FROM THE MORNING CALL
Now all the questions can stop and the chatter can begin.
The Phillies placed Shane Victorino on the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday and called up Dom Brown from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to take his place on the 25-man roster.
Victorino, 29, had an MRI on Wednesday morning which showed he has an abdominal strain that he suffered in Tuesday night's game. He was hitting .250 with a career-high 15 home runs and a team-best 20 stolen bases.
Brown, 22, has combined to hit. 327 (112-for-343) with 46 extra-base hits, including 20 HRs and 68 RBIs in 93 games for Double-A Reading and the IronPigs.
Brown will wear No. 9 and will be available for tonight's game.
There's a chance you could see him in the starting lineup if manager Charlie Manuel decides to start Jayson Werth in center field and put Brown in right field.
