Nazareth's Horan places second at national freestyle wrestling tournament

Nazareth senior Zach Horan placed second Saturday at the USA Wrestling Freestyle National Championships in Fargo, N.D.

Horan, a three-time runner-up at the PIAA state tournament, fell in the Junior 125-pound division to Eddie Klimara of Illinois. Horan won the first period 2-0, but Klimara took the title by winning the next two periods 3-1 and 2-0.

The medal was Horan's fifth at the Fargo Nationals. In 2008, Horan won a Cadet freestyle national title and placed fourth in the Greco-Roman competition. Last year, Horan was second in Cadet freestyle and fourth in Greco-Roman.

In the women's freestyle competition, Pleasant Valley's Samantha Klingel and Kasey Kruczek of Easton earned all-America status. Klingel placed seventh at 109 pounds, and Kruczek placed seventh at 139
