Utley and Polanco head to disabled list

Injuries for the Phillies just keep mounting.

The club placed second baseman Chase Utley and third baseman Placido Polanco on the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday, assistant general manager Scott Proefrock said.

Utley has a sprained right thumb and Polanco has inflammation in his left elbow.

To fill their spots on the 25-man roster, the Phillies selected the contract of utilityman Greg Dobbs and recalled infielder Brian Bocock from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
