New Catty girls basketball coach named

CHAD WERKHEISER NAMED NEW HEAD GIRLS BASKETBALL COACH AT CATASAUQUA HIGH SCHOOL



Chad Werkheiser has been named the new head girls basketball coach at Catasauqua High School. Werkheiser replaces Charles Post who resigned in March after leading the Rough Riders girls program for 2009-10 season.



Werkheiser was approved at Tuesday evening’s Catasauqua Area School District Board Meeting.



Chad Werkheiser’s Highlights


- 2007-2010; Associate and Interim Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Cedar Crest College

- 2005-2007; Assistant Girls Basketball Coach at Southern Lehigh High School

- 2000-2005; Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Cedar Crest College

- 1992; graduated from Saint Gabriel’s High School in Audubon, Pennsylvania



Statement from Director of Student Activities Thomas Moll:

“The administration looks forward to working with Chad and his coaching staff to begin the process to re-build our girls basketball program. We are not only looking for dedication from our new coaching staff, but also a renewed dedication from our student-athletes to help turn our program around. We are very confident that Chad is the right person at this time to move our program forward.”
