Power was restored about noon today to roughly 10,000 Metropolitan Edison Co. customers in Nazareth and other areas this morning, Met-Ed spokesman Marc Troutman said.
The short-lived 11:19 power outage also affected residents in Bushkill Township, Stockertown and parts of Bangor and Wind Gap, Troutman said.
He said a contractor working on the Belfast substation off Route 115 in Stockertown accidentally came into contact with a live conductor, causing the outage. The incident caused a cascading effect temporarily disabling four other substations.
The contractor sustained a minor burn, Troutman said.
