Emmaus struck for six runs in the fourth inning and withstood a seventh-inning rally by Liberty to post a 6-1 win over the Hurricanes on Thursday

Emmaus struck for six runs in the fourth inning and withstood a seventh-inning rally by Liberty to post a 6-1 win over the Hurricanes on Thursday at Pates Park.

It was Liberty's first Lehigh Valley Conference loss after eight wins. The 'Canes fell to 10-3 overall.

Emmaus, which sent 12 batters to the plate in the fourth and collected four hits and three walks, improved to 6-3 LVC and 9-6 overall.

Sophmore Kayla Kresley went the distance, scattering nine hits.

Bri Howells led off the big inning with a double for Emmaus. Alyson Cappucci, Emily Hockman and Kresley also had hits in the inning.
