Police chief warns Upper Nazareth Township residents to lock car doors

A spate of unlocked cars being rummaged through has Upper Nazareth Township police warning folks to lock their automobiles.

Police Chief Alan Siegfried said residents reported three or four cases since the end of last week in which someone overnight went through cars on East Lawn Avenue.

“They try the door handles and they open the car up to see what they can find,” Siegfried said of the culprits. “The best advice we can give is lock your doors.”

In all cases, Siegfried said, nothing more than loose change was taken.

Similar cases have been reported in neighboring Nazareth; it’s possible the same people are responsible, Siegfried said.
