Indiana girls come up short in state final

STATE COLLEGE -- Indiana lost to Archbishop Wood, 49-39, in the PIAA Class AAA girls' basketball championship game at the Bryce Jordan Center on the Penn State campus Saturday.

Indiana tied the game at 33 early in the fourth quarter, but Archbishop Wood outscored the Indians 16-6 the rest of the way.

Indiana led 13-7 at the end of the first quarter, and the game was tied 17-17 at halftime. Archbishop Wood led 31-30 after three quarters and extended the lead to 33-30 before Indiana forged a tie.

Tiara Stossel led Indiana with 17 points.

The Indians, playing for the state title for the second time in school history and for the first time since 1983, closed the season at 25-4.
