NAZARETH BEATS PARKLAND 66-53

Nazareth stormed out to a 26-5 first-quarter lead and never looked back in an impressive 66-53 win over visiting Parkland Friday night in the Lehigh Valley Conference opener for both teams.

It's the second straight season that the Blue Eagles (3-1) have beaten the Trojans in the league opener. Last year it proved to be Parkland's lone loss in the LVC regular season.

Junior workhorse Chuck Dibilio scored 18 points, but was just one of four Nazareth players to reach double figures.

Dibilio, Kris Kent and Karl Keglovits combined for 21 points in the first-period blitz.

The Trojans fell to 1-2 overall despite a 22-point effort by Paul Pammer, while the Blue Eagles improved to 2-1.

In other LVC action, Allen handed Emmaus its first loss of the season behind a 40-point second half. Jalen Cannon led the Canaries with 16.

Freedom handed Easton its first loss of the year behind the one-two punch of Izel Jenkins and Mike Coccia, who combined for 37 points.
