PILOT DIES DURING FLIGHT

NEWARK (WPIX) - The captain of an international flight has died mid-air and his plane has safely landed in New Jersey.

The 60-year-old captain was piloting a Boeing 777 for Continental Airlines Flight 61 from Brussels, Belgium to Newark, New Jersey.

Both the FAA and Continental Airlines have confirmed the pilot's death and stated that he died of "apparently natural causes."

The captain's name has not been released, but the airline stated that he has worked with Continental for 32 years and was based in Newark.
