http://blog.sitcomsonline.com/2018/03/sitcomsonline-digest-fox-looking-to.html

Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! Much of the news this week has involved the success of the Roseanne reboot, with little talk of other news... but nonetheless, we've got a lot of non-Roseanne news for you, including some rumors of reboots at Fox, a renewal of One Day at a Time, and news about new Perfect Strangers DVDs (side note: nobody has thought about rebooting that?). Let's get going!

http://blog.sitcomsonline.com/2018/03/roseanne-opens-big-on-abc-encore-airs.html

Towering over NBC's The Voice and CBS' NCIS in the 8:00-9:00 p.m. hour to rank as Tuesday's No. 1 TV show, ABC's 1-hour premiere of Roseanne opened with an average audience of 18.44 million viewers and a 5.2/21 in Adults 18-49, building from its first half-hour to its second half-hour. Roseanne scored Tuesday's top-rated entertainment telecast in 6 years with young adults – since 2/28/12. Roseanne opened with TV's highest Adult 18-49 rating for any comedy telecast on any night in 3 1/2 years – since CBS' The Big Bang Theory season opener on 9/22/14. Roseanne delivered ABC’s best results in the 1-hour time period since November 2006 in viewers and since November 2009 in young adults – since 11/14/06 and 11/3/09, respectively. Roseanne's return built on its May 1997 finale telecast 21 years ago by 11% in Total Viewers (18.44 million vs. 16.6 million on 5/20/97), outdrawing its final 12 telecasts that season.

TV NEWS MARCH 27

http://blog.sitcomsonline.com/2018/03/abc-mid-season-pilot-review-alex-inc.html

Based on Alex Blumberg's successful podcast StartUp, comedy series Alex, Inc. is all about the things that happen – the good, the bad and the ugly – when a journalist and family man quits his job to start his own company. He quickly discovers it's going to be a lot harder than he thought. Alex Schuman is a successful radio producer with a whip-smart, public defender wife, Meheroon, (aka "Rooni") and two confident, quirky children, Ben and Soraya. After years of making the kind of content that brings no creative fulfilment, in what most would consider an early mid-life crisis, Alex decides to risk everything – including his savings – to start his own business. Armed only with the help of his overenthusiastic producer, Deirdre, and his fast-talking, unemployed second cousin, Eddie, Alex navigates the crazy world of start-ups while trying to keep his marriage and family a priority.

TV NEWS MARCH 26

http://blog.sitcomsonline.com/2018/03/abc-mid-season-pilot-review-splitting.html

Lena and Martin were once madly in love. But, like many marriages, time and circumstance eventually took their toll and the romance disappeared. Finding themselves in a platonic marriage and acting more like a pair of camp counselors wrangling their kids than a couple hopelessly in love, they decide that everyone's lives would be better served if they got a divorce. Still wanting the best for their three kids and facing a daunting real estate market, the couple decides to "Bird Nest" instead. One parent will live in the house as the "on-duty" parent taking care of the kids, while the "off-duty" parent will live in the detached garage, doing whatever he or she pleases while switching off every other week. Could being apart ultimately lead to them getting back together?
