TV NEWS FEBRUARY 28

http://blog.sitcomsonline.com/2018/02/abc-orders-alec-baldwin-talk-show-to.html

ABC has picked up Sundays with Alec Baldwin, a new one-hour talk show hosted by Oscar nominee and Emmy(R) and Golden Globe(R) Award-winning actor Alec Baldwin, featuring one-on-one conversations with some of the most interesting people from American pop culture. From ABC and Baldwin's El Dorado Pictures, a sneak peek will air Sunday, March 4 at 11:35 p.m. EST/10:00 p.m. PST, following the 90th Oscars, on The ABC Television Network. This first look features two intimate and engaging conversations with award-winning comedic icons. First, a candid and entertaining discussion with long-time friend Jerry Seinfeld on the state of comedy in the current social and political climate, and his life before and after Seinfeld. Next up is Kate McKinnon, someone Baldwin says is one of the most talented people with whom he has ever worked. They discuss Saturday Night Live, her early childhood performances that borrowed from scandalous headlines and the cast of characters that have made her a household name. Baldwin hosts and executive produces Match Game, now in season three on The ABC Television Network. Additionally, Baldwin's company, El Dorado Pictures, has a two-year first-look deal with ABC Studios.

http://blog.sitcomsonline.com/2018/02/cbs-gets-more-stars-for-murphy-brown.html

Faith Ford (Corky Sherwood), Joe Regalbuto (Frank Fontana) and Grant Shaud (Miles Silverberg) will reprise their original characters from the hit comedy when Murphy Brown returns to CBS for the 2018-2019 broadcast season. As previously announced, CBS has given a 13-episode, series production commitment to a current-day revival of the Network's classic comedy Murphy Brown from Warner Bros. Television. Candice Bergen, who starred in the title role from 1988-1998, will reprise her role. As its 30th anniversary approaches, Murphy Brown returns to a world of cable news, social media, fake news and a very different political and cultural climate. Warner Bros. Television, producers of the original series, will produce the new multi-camera comedy with original creator Diane English serving as writer/executive producer through her Bend in the Road Productions banner. Bergen will also be an executive producer.

TV NEWS FEBRUARY 26

http://blog.sitcomsonline.com/2018/02/cbs-mid-season-pilot-review-living.html

Chip Curry is a modern day man at a crossroads in his life, who decides to live strictly in accordance with the Bible. A film critic for a New York Newspaper and a soon-to-be father, Chip wants to be a better man following the loss of his best friend. He decides to put his slightly obsessive temperament to use and start living his life 100% by the Bible to find direction. His smart, pregnant wife, Leslie, while both skeptical and entertained by her husband’s new passion, supports him completely. Knowing he'll need some practical advice, Chip forms a “God Squad” with Father Gene, a Catholic Priest who helps Chip translate the rules of the Bible to a modern world; and Father Gene's best friend, easygoing Rabbi Gil Abelman, who respects Chip's chutzpah and is glad to serve as a sounding board when they meet at their local bar. At Chip's newspaper, he finds support from his no-nonsense boss, Ms. Meadows, who knows Chip’s self-penned story will sell newspapers, and his co-worker and friend, Vince, who is quick with a reality check and likes to wind Chip up for his own amusement. As he begins his sincere spiritual journey toward a more moral life with the help of his wife and friends, Chip wonders if he'll be able to take a page – or every page – out of the Good Book, and if the effect will be of Biblical proportions.

http://blog.sitcomsonline.com/2018/02/metv-network-makes-spring-change.html

The MeTV Network is making some minor changes in March. The rarely seen fourth season of The Twilight Zone — the season with the hourlong episodes — is coming to Sunday nights on MeTV. Hourlong episodes of The Twilight Zone replace Cheers and The Bob Newhart Show at 12AM. It has the perfect partners in Alfred Hitchcock Presents and Night Gallery, Rod Serling's other chilling anthology series. Alfred Hitchcock Presents replaces The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Taxi at 1AM and 1:30AM. Night Gallery replaces The Honeymooners and The Odd Couple at 11PM and 11:30PM on Sunday nights. Additionally, you can watch Night Gallery each weekday, replacing The Donna Reed Show at 5:30AM Eastern. This all begins on March 5. Check out the full schedule for more details.

http://blog.sitcomsonline.com/2018/02/antenna-tv-adds-more-alice-in-april.html

Antenna TV will make some minor schedule changes for second quarter, beginning Sunday, April 1, 2018 (no, we're not foolin'). New addition Alice is doing red hot and will get three airings per weekday now. Alice will remain airing weekdays at 1pm and 1am, but now it will also air weeknights at 7:30pm! Wow, there's a new girl in town and she's looking good, indeed! It's part of minor weekday early evening changes, with now Growing Pains, Family Ties and Alice airing from 6:30pm-8pm. Other notable changes include Mr. Belvedere and Evening Shade being removed from the line-up, while Dear John returns to the schedule, airing weekends at 4pm. Head of the Class gains airings as well, getting weekends at 2pm while still airing weekdays at 2:30pm, as does Small Wonder now airing weekdays at 5am and remains at 12:30pm. We suggest you look at the April 2018 schedule to see what else has changed, but it's just minor.
