FROM PENNLIVE
No more than one of the finalists from last year's NCAA women's
volleyball national tournament is going to make this year's Final Four.
That's because defending champion Penn State and runner-up Wisconsin
are in the Louisville Regional. Penn State is the overall 5 seed and Big
Ten champ Wisconsin is the overall 4 seed.
The Nittany Lions (30-3, 18-2) will host Siena at 7:30 p.m. on Friday
in a first-round match. American and Dayton will square off in the
opening first-round match at Rec Hall at 5 p.m. The winners will play at
7:30 p.m. Saturday for the right to advance to the regional semifinal
in Louisville.
