In its press release, NBC calls Friday night’s telecast of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Opening Ceremony “non-live” which it was, but funny that it doesn’t use “delayed.”
People watched in huge numbers. The rating was a 17.0/28 which is down slightly from Vancouver’s 17.3/30 which was live. Quite good to maintain those numbers. NBC is comparing Sochi’s numbers to Turin in 2006 which was also delayed. The 2006 Opening Ceremony received a 12.8/21.
