FROM THE MORNING CALL
With Allen and Dieruff leaving the Lehigh Valley Conference in football for the 2012 season, there's no mystery about how the league's remaining 10 teams will match up next year. Everyone will play everyone.
Now we know when those games will happen.
Below is the complete LVC football schedule for 2012. It does not include the Week 1 non-league matchups, some of which remain undecided.
A couple of things jump out about the new schedule. The first is the Week 10 matchups.
The regular season will conclude with a few different rivalry contests than recent schedules featured, including Bethlehem Catholic-Central Catholic, Nazareth-Easton and Parkland-Emmaus. In the last few years, Bethlehem Catholic has ended the regular season against Easton, while Central Catholic played Emmaus and Parkland played Whitehall.
The other notable thing about next year's schedule is we'll finally see some matchups that haven't been played in a while. Central Catholic and Easton will play in Week 3, Central Catholic and Liberty will meet in Week 5, and Freedom and Parkland (which will return running back Jarel Elder, above) will play in Week 7.
The premature choice for the best LVC opener for 2012 is Easton visiting Parkland. Here's the full rundown of games.
